With the Spring Road Season now upon us, it's time to make the Sunday Ride a little more purposeful.
First, we need to extend our saddle time a little.
Second, we need to focus on maintaining a solid rotating tempo. (See C Carmichael for explanation about long pulls/tempo http://www.trainright.com/articles.asp?uid=3296)
Third, we need to continue to ride safely. Winter has left the roads gritty and potholed.
So, I propose the Sunday Ride leave Dolores at 11:00 AM > over Summit to Mancos > Mancos to Cortez > South along the Mesa > North to 491> to Arriola > Road S to Lebanon School House > up to 184 > Dolores.
Bring plenty of food and drink.

Are you saying I have to stop being "tactical" and move to the front for parts of the ride?
Sounds like a good ride to me. If I am in town I will see everyone at 11:00. Don't expect a quick pace if I have to stay at the front for any extended period of time.
The beauty of the long pull is that you get long recovery x 3 or 4 or 5 -- very 'tactical.'
